Starting my online business was scary.

I felt lost, scared, and many times, alone.

There was so much noise coming from so many places…

“Work with me!”

“Buy this course!”

“You need to figure out your niche!”

“You need a lead tracker!”

“Do you have systems in place?”

I binged all the podcasts. I tuned into all the free trainings. I bought all the guides and courses. Heck, I probably have over $1000 in mini courses and trainings that I never even opened!

So if you’re new to the online world and you are feeling excited yet slightly overwhelmed, here are some tips from your fairy VA mother to help guide you.

1. DON’T BUY ALL THE COURSES… yet.

You do not need to learn how to be a [insert niche here] pro to become booked out. Don’t get me wrong, courses can definitely be helpful, but when you’re first starting out, you don’t need to buy every single one.

2. BUILD YOUR BUSINESS…

Learn how to market yourself, find clients, and get on sales calls. THEN, expand on the things you think you want to learn more about. It is so important to build a foundation before diving into the extras.

3. THANKS, BUT NO THANKS...

If someone pops into your DMs asking how long you’ve been in business and that you look like a boss babe in need, thank them for connecting and then carry on. You want a coach who is looking to build a relationship, not pop into your DMs expecting a sale.

4. DON’T OVERWATER YOUR FLOWER…

You’re going to want to listen to all the newly discovered entrepreneur podcasts, download all the freebies, buy all the mini guides. But what’s going to happen is you’re going to feel so overwhelmed by all the different info that you won’t be able to use any of it. So take one thing, learn it, implement it, and then move on to the next.

5. FIND A FRIEND…

Support systems are important. Find a buddy doing what you’re doing and lean on each other. Better yet, find a community that will support you and lift you up! Having people that can hold you accountable and answer any questions that you have is key.

Working online can be scary.

But it doesn't have to be!
