How I started my own business

5-steps-to-start-your-business

I knew I wanted a life outside my 9-5. I just wasn’t sure what it was or how to start. So here’s what I did:

1. HIRED A COACH.

Yes, I’m a google queen and could have figured it all out on my own. But my coach got me to where I am 10000x quicker. Plus, the accountability and having a cheerleader who is rooting for your success is invaluable. My coach was worth every penny

2. REGISTERED MY BIZ.

At first, I couldn’t think of a name. I was hung up for almost a week on this. I decided on my name because if I ever change directions, my name will be the same. I registered as an LLC in Florida because they have decent tax laws. If you don’t have a physical storefront, you can register pretty much anywhere (but do your homework!)

3. BUILT AN ONLINE PRESENCE.

Taught myself how to build a website and then fell in love with the process. Changed my Instagram from travel pics to pics of me in my element, educating and giving value in my pics

4. LANDED MY FIRST CLIENT.

This is the toughest part. I did a task as a favor and my first client was super impressed, so she hired me! My next clients booked me after hearing her testimonial. Testimonials are KEY to landing clients! I also landed some gigs through networking on Facebook groups

5. CONTINUED TO MARKET.

Even though I didn’t have much room for more clients, I still put myself out there. Don’t lose momentum just because you’re seeing some success!

And that is my journey (so far).
